I used dupont nason paint. Base coat clear coat system. It sprays really nice and dries quick. Plus its nice on the wallet.

LOVE the paint scheme!!!:)devil what are you planning on for power?
I have a 557 bbf. Dom 1050 carb. Edelbrock aluminum heads, probe flat top pistons. Stroker crank. Etc.... :)
I was very pleased with the nason paint. My shop deals with automotive paint supply in fontana, ca and they recomended the nason because i wanted to stick with acrylic urethaine paint not the water based shit thanks to the ca epa
I used Nason all the way. Nason single stage on the Bottom and Nason base and clear on the sides and top. Sprayed out real nice ,is forgiving and the clear laid ouf real nice and flat, with no orange peal. I was satisfied and the cost was 1/3 of the others....Hal

:|err gotta put a chevy in that thang!!! that ford sounds real nice though! your gonna have a nice ride when your done. good shait!!!:)devil
Very nice paint. Some drop shadows and striping and call it a day. Did you cap it or still using rub rail?
Thanks guys, im gona have a guy come out and do some pin striping but its gona be with the same color. I like the sharp, clean, edgy look. I capped the sides to get rid of the rub rail.
I justified it by rub rail costing above 200 bucks or cap it with no cost just my time.
damn nice, i love the scheme. Roughly how much white and clear did you go through? rough idea of material cost? i need to paint my boat soon, maybe over the winter. Yours looks like a top notch job. Nice work.
Oh yeah, and nice work on the DIY paint booth! that looks like something I will be rigging up for mine.
You know the great thing about these konas "I have one as well" is the way the chine peeks downward and runs all the way to the front. Stops most all that rough chop from spraying you in the face!!

I think you'll be very happy with this combo.:)
I went through about a gallon of white and clear on the bottom and sides. I bought the white and clear for the bottom from summit racing its a pure white acrylic urethaine and for everything to spray it cost about $120.00 for a 1 1/2 gallon sprayable of white. The clear i think was $100.oo for a 1 1/2 gallon sprayable. This gave me alil more than 3 coats. For the top i used the same white and after i painted the bottom i decided to cap it so i painted the top and sides and went through the same amount of white paint for $120.00. After the white i used a inter coat clear from house of kolor to put the blue pearl in and for 3 quarts sprayable it was like $88.00 and it gave me 2 coats. I bought nason blue and silver metallic for the graphics. The silver was 2 quarts sprayable for $80.00 and the blue was a gallon sprayable for $130.00 both the silver a blue was 3 coats. I bought xtreme clear for the top and for a lil over a gallon sprayable was $110.00. I think the total job with paint and tape and everything was about $850.00 this was using good low end paint. Dupont nason. More bang for the buck. I bought a quart of dupont imron 6000 paint for a job at work and it was $171.00 just for the paint.
