My Friend Fred has been putting this boat together for the past 3 years.
A little about Fred...he is 53 and the guy has only one good hand after wrist surgery a few years ago that left him with a bar in his wrist and cast that will probably never come off.
He can't bend his wrist and is in chronic agony due to this uncomfortable hunk of metal in his arm.

One good hand.

Ok, so without trying to write a book here, I'll just post some pics of this boat, and you will get the idea of how talented and dedicated Fred is to his craft.

The rail kit is home made.
The water lines are of his construction out of stainless lines found on the scrap pile at the company he used to work for.
The Olds emblem was hand cut with an exacto from a couple pieces of carpet...pretty kewl.
The wiring is totally killer but I don't have pictures...really custom stuff.
The glass work is all him...and his one good hand.

The boat just came back from paint... there is still a lot of pin striping and detail to be done, but you get the idea...and he still needs to make seats.

I hope to see this boat on the lake before summer ends.

Go Fred!:)devil:)devil:)devil

Great workmanship even with three hands!

There is another member on the forum, Cripple Midget Racing, aka Bubba, who only has one functioning arm. His work, like your friends, is amazing. I have nothing but the greatest respect for what Bubba and your friend are capable of doing in spite of their handicap.

It just boggles. I've known Fred for 36 years and have seen some amazing stuff come out of his garage.
Here's a couple shots of Fred and his 69 Buick GS that we put together in 1990.
This car was a wreck when he got it. Completely accordioned in the front end.
1 year in the driveway produced this.
Complete body-off restoration right in his mom's front yard in Cupertino.
The pics are just a few months old.
This car runs as good as it looks.
100% Buick stuff...even has the factory tissue box under the glove box.

Vic & Toni are doing just fine. I spoke with them just last week. Vic is in the middle of a bathroom remodel.

Sorry for the hijack.:D

Your Bud is Bad AZZ. Could rag on the Olds but I bet he did that better then right as well. Need to hook him up with a pedel for a divertor so he can trim it out. Did someone down in Modesto do the paint? Very Nice Job for sure. If he is bored and needs something to do I have one he can mess with. :D OH YA. You are not teaching him how to spin out are you???

Yeah, he had a local guy do the paint over the summer. Still needs some striping, so he tells me. It's the same motor he had in his last boat, so it's been around a while, but always ran great. I think the only difference is he added the vic manifold.
I don't see any spinouts in Fred's future.:point::oops:
