what carb would be good on 454. it has a edelbrock preformer 2.o intake internals unknown other than erson roller rockers i have the holley 750 hp off my 40 ford i could try. problem is i still run factory tank and dont want any shit in my good carb. not sure if i can run the carb even on it since other is a spread bore and mine is square. the boat i think is from ohio or somewhere like that it sold one time on e bay cheap it has been repainted red at some time in its life. boat has changed hands 4 times before i ended up with it.

I will just put a kit in the quadrajet for now and see if i can get the secondaries to operate properly. it falls on its face right after they start to open like maybe its running out of fuel. it has been like 20 years since i had one tore apart. lol

That 750 would be fine. They make an adapter from spread to square bore if you run into that issue. Put an inline fuel filter to be safe and give it a try.

Quadrajet

The setting for the spring that controls the secondary air valve is 3/4 tight after the the valve is gently closed. If it opens too fast it will cause a bog. Hopefully no one in the past has tried to "improve" it with metering rods or jet changes. Try to rebuild it as they are very good. If the engine is still stock it should work.
