I hate to get rid of this, but the time has come for my son to start driving and as long as I own this car my insurance rates will be prohibitively high.

Yes, I did say that he will be excluded from driving this car, but they told me as long as I own this vehicle I must pay to have have my son insured. Too many people have done the excluded thing to only have their kids take off with the car out when the parents weren't around, they crash or worse and the parents are left holding the bag.

I want to think that my son won't do that, but I did take my dad's Vette out when he was gone, but I didn't hit anything, but 250 horsepower versus 500 horsepower is no comparison. I just don't want to take that chance.

Anyways, here's the specs on the car:

2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
8,000 miles
Velocity Yellow
Ebony (black) leather
2LZ equipment package
Side impact airbags
Driver's seat and exterior mirror memory settings
Heated driver & passengers seats
Cargo shade and net
3 channel universal home remote
Heads-up display
Navigation
Bose stereo with CD & MP3 player
Chrome factory Speedline wheels
Lloyd's floor and cargo mats with Z06 logo
Mild to Wild exhaust controller
7 years/100,000 mile GM extended warranty
California registration has just been paid up to next June

The car has never been in the rain, raced or been thrashed upon.

Performance Boats forum member special price: $58,000.
It's going in the Auto Trader for $59,995

Already got a Howard, but how much change are we talking?
Havasu, thanks for the blow-up. :D
you might try listing it on Corvette Forum. Nice ride! if you want to step down to a 08 C6 LS3 loaded let me know.
That is one beautiful car. I just bought my '07 in November, the wife wouldn't let me buy another so soon....
Beautiful car. Get rid of the kid and keep the car. It's much cheaper in the long run........................j/k.

I suggested that, but the stench from the stink eye I got from my wife, made me walk away with my tail between my legs.

Who are you insured with?

This isn't the way it typically works. If you have 3 cars on the account the insurance company will list your son on the car he drives, your wife on her car and you on the Z06. Since they are getting premium for your son on the vehicle he is being rated on they won't charge extra for the vette.

If you only have 1 car on the account and 3 drivers then there going to put worst case senario on the vehicle (your son)

Beautiful car.... If your intrested in keeping it I would shop your insurance:)

Damn! I'll be ready to buy that car in about 6 months! Can you Non-Op it and put it up on blocks for a few months? :D Have you tried insuring the C6 through Grundy or other specialty car insurance? I had my C5 through Grundy and all my other cars on Allstate. Allstate didn't even know about the Vette.
Really, right now with me being between jobs right now, it really doesn't bother me, I can always get another one later.

Insurance-wise, I'm sure I can get away cheaper going through another insurer, but my umbrella policy won't me that way.

Jus' like my momma said, "It's better to be safe than sorry". I seem to fall into that 1% that all the shit happens to.
Beautiful car and good luck with the sale.
I want you in me!

Ride me!!

Drive me hard!!!

What can I say - my car's a slut.

Buy it, you'll see.
