whos going to race from this section,its a great race to support. Casino for the old ladys,boat racing for the boys,nice pits and sandy beach,great time for all. Hope to see some of you at the race. hand

I guess you don't really follow jet boat racing. In the last five years we have always had a really good jet boat turn out. I think we had six entries last year. There has always been a jet in the top ten since the race started. It is too bad that they changed the rules this year to try and slow the jet boats down, and no longer allow z-drives in the jet class.
They also limited the jets to 410 cubic inches to basically eliminate all of the comp jets from racing. They must be afraid that a jet was getting close to winning.hand

They must be afraid that a jet was getting close to winning.hand[/QUOTE Is a z drive a casale gear box between the engine and jet,to slow the engine rpm down in a super or turbo charged engine.last year you guys had a jet with a blower hat with a blocked off plate and feed thru the side by a couple turbos.Ran hard !!! and stayed together.

Hey Richard, They put us in Div 3 where you can go big on CI and run the Z-drive if you wish. Its still somewhat of a handicap starting 10 min down put its still going to be a great time, Lance

Yes that is what a Z drive is and yes that is the boat that had it in it.

I have to side with Richard on the fact that it seems every year the rules get adjusted to benefit the larger and faster boats. Every time they have a rule change it seems to put the class1 boats farther away from having a chance to win the race. We have to run our boats a hour longer than the class 5 boat, which mean we have to make our equipment hold together one hour longer than everyone else, so know we have to run harder and do it with lower quality equipment, OH and before the rule change we were unlimited cubic inches in class 1. Don't quite seam fare to me.

Of course this is just my opinion, which don't mean $hit to the rules comity.
