So mdshepie said the group has been to South Manistique Lake in the Upper Peninsula before.
Does anyone have any suggestions for rooms? I am thinking choices are few, so act soon?
When is prime back fly season?

Thanks,
Darin

I spoke to my friend from work whom I knew he had a place up in the U.P. Turns out he has acreage with cabins on Manistiuqe Lake and acreage west of South Manistique Lake. However his cabins have not been open in a few years since his wife passed. Anyways he suggested using the "Upper Peninsula Travel Association" or Chamber of Commerce. He also mentioned he knows Phil Stabile, the owner of Sherman's Resort. Now he said he has never seen Sherman's, just knows the guy. So then I searched "South Manistique Lake lodging". Turns out there are several cabins and campgrounds around the lake. So does anyone know if there is a better side of the lake? Or any better area than another, preferred area, you know what I mean... Maybe I will look to see where the launch is?
Thanks,
Darin

Marble Lake campgrounds

So what kind of camp grounds are there around corn/marble island?

I went to Marble Lake with a friend in 2015. As I remember there were 2 campgrounds on the lake.
We stayed at Cottonwood Resort, 219 Wildwood Beach Road, Quincy, MI 49082. (517) 639-4415
I am not normally a camper and more or less met my friend there. I did not have any complaints and would stay there again. I would assume there were nicer places and certainly some less desirable. They had a general store and showers which I thought was nice. It was just south of one of the launch ramps, as in you could easily walk back and forth. I believe there were 3 launch ramps on the lake. One at the very north end. This one and a 3rd. The 3rd may have been at the other camp ground? Cottonwood is on the east side of the lake a little ways south of the island. There were a few other people there with boats, maybe 2 or 3 others?

Marble Lake info copy paste

Here is some old information I found on here and copied and pasted

Marble Lakeis just south of Quincy

On US-12coming from the east you can
Turn down Maple rd. to the south, which is 3-4 miles east of Quincy Take it until it deadends into Wildwood rd.
Turn Rightand it will take you right to boat launch. From the West you can turn downRay-Quincy Rd to Wildwood Rd turn Rightto boat launch. It's approximately 30 - 35 miles west of Wamplers Lk on US-12.

The launchramp is a free public ramp. There's a little "last stop" party storeon Ray Quincy Rd about a half-mile North of Wildwood Rd. where you turn rightto get to the ramp. The Corn Island sandbar is just North of the launch ramp, you can't miss it.
There's alsoa "pay" ramp on First Lake, just up the canal from Marble Lake.
The sandbar is shallow and SANDY, but there's a couple ofdeep clay holes lurking in the shallow water. Everyone WILL laugh when you dropinto one of those holes while you're wading around with your beer. ;)
