I joined this forum for discussion of my project. I have restored a Mariah Talari 190. 4.3 with alpha 1 is running great. I am a 40 year hotrodder. I have an 010 4 bolt block punched .30 . I will be using vortec heads, because I have them already. These vortex heads really make great power with a comp cams 268h. I have built this motor for a friends street camaro.

I read a thread about having problems with the stock Mercruiser exhaust problems with a cam that has maybe too much duration, or maybe too much overlap. I am familiar with the loss of vacume because of duration and overlap.
can someone elaborate on the subject of cam problems that I might have maybe water flow in the stock mercruiser exhaust.
