Hi everyone. I just purchased a 20 ft boat with an original 1968 427-L88. The owner ordered this motor from California Marine via AeroMarine. Looking for any performance or history info on this motor and wondering if any other members have a similar motor. PS I have the original AeroMarine Parts Manual if anyone is looking for original part numbers.

If that's a ...512 Corvette block, that's worth 4 grand all day long around here. Depending on what all the numbers are, the engine by itself, is worth more than the Boat is.

I still have two L-88's left over from the 60's. One of them still has the factory GM 12.5:1 pistons in it !

Thanks for your reply. My block number is 439. This motor is untouched; ever but and bolt is 100% original. Original spark plugs still in it. I am having it rebuilt by a speed shop. It only has 2 hours of idle time on on the motor. Unfortunately it sat in a leaky carport under a tarp that was torn holes in it.
