I'm guessing that it's one of the newer 8.1s ?

with the plugs pulled, and the coil packs disconnected, just crank the engine over. There's not much to priming the motor before start up. There's a large oil plug on the right rear of the motor. It's used for external oil pumps, but that's all that I know of as far as an external prime with out starting

Well, you can take the intake off, and remove item #4, which is referred to as the "oil pump drive". But, I would say taking out the plugs would be quicker and easier.
