Before (GN7) want to beat me with a stick...has anyone used, or heard of any benefits from adding 1-oz of TCW3 (ashless 2-stroke oil) to 5-gallons (ratio) regular gas?
Reason, I'm hearing it's very good as an upper cylinder lube(UCL), helps protect the valve seats (like leaded gas did) cleans intake valve deposits, pistons and rings and aids in more efficient fuel combustion.
I did try the above ratio in my Vette and, I do notice a smoother idle, oil temps are lower and performance is noticeable better.
That doesn't mean I'm ready to try it in a higher compression, higher reving boat engine.
Ok...beat away.:)sphss

Keep in mind, adding oil to any fuel lowers its octane. Engine builders take precautions to keep oil out of the combustion chamber.

I can understand your reply but, ashless-TCW3 is meant for lubrication and combustion unlike conventional engine oil.
And the ratio of 1-oz to 5 gallons of gas is very slight but appears (as I've read) to aid in combustion and UCL.
My Vette seems to like it...not concentrated enough to throw a code or harm the catalytic converter or O2 sensor.
Just though I'd toss it out here...can't do much more than read anymore.
thanks for your feedback.

Here too (1-oz to 1-gallon of diesel) as my ole 7.3 IP and Injectors loves it > super quiet and smooth operation!
But inquiring about my original question.

I asked my merc tech whats the best injector cleaner

He has me add a 150/1 2 stroke oil mix to my fuel tank on my 300xs

Not really

Now we're adding oil to fuel oil? That oz of 2 stroke oil in a gal of fuel oil makes it that much slicker. Must be some slippery shit.

The Pro Stock boys and the Nascar wizards are busting their asses to keep oil out of the chamber, decades spent developing the 3 pc SS50 oil ring, and Napier 2nds, and a bunch of backyard mechanics have decided oil in the fuel is a good thing. :)sphss
At least a dozen things out there I would rather stick in my fuel than oil. Some are legal, most aren't. None of them are oil. Because no oil, except fuel oil was ever intended for combustion, including 2 stroke oil. All oil will lower the octane of any fuel. Ever look at the octane of diesel? Some oils like 2 stroke oil burns cleaner than motor oil, but it still lowers the octane, and inhibits the combustion.
If you have to have something in your fuel to make you feel better, that you think the petro chemists should have included, then get something that was intended for the purpose.

Just a few: Lucas injector cleaner and top lube, TK7, the stuff Nitrous Express sells, and ......the stuff everybody laughed at that Cstraub posted awhile back, from Nexus. All have basically the same idea, a top lube that leaves a dry synthetic lube behind on the cylinder walls after combustion. Everyone laughed at the Nexus stuff without knowing what it does, and how. Its not a new idea. Its been around for years. Just newer chemistry that may also act as a catalyst for the oxidizing process of the fuel.

Why the thought that your smarter than the oil companies and the car manufactures. Engines run 200,000 +miles now. If a oil injector pump was a improvement, your car would have one. Or oil in the fuel? All the stuff they stick in gasoline, and the oil companies over looked simple oil:)sphss
But oil in the gas? No, not for me unless I running a 2 stroke. And then only Golden Spectro. But then thats a looooong story in itself:D

I put oil in my gas too.....

I have a Yamaha 50hp on my barge and I too believe in the oil in the gas. As for my jetboats, I dont use any top lube, 2-stroke oil, or any other crap to contaminate my $10 a gallon gas. Just my .02 worth:D
