Go to take the sled out on sat to get some stabil in the carbs. get to the ramp and dead battery.. Take her home and put it on the charger. There is always tomorrow. Well Sunday AM I get up nice and early and go to put the battery back in and get it going.. Well now she won’t crank over.. Starter gives one click (not even a real click but if I stand next to the starter I hear an electrical noise) and then does crap.. I jump a pig tail off the starter to a hot wire and hold. After 5 seconds it moves a little but not a whole lot. (Lesson learned don’t just listen to the radio in your boat when you are not on the water for hours on end

I know how to troubleshoot a starter so I think I am good to go but damn if it isn’t one thing it’s another. If I can’t get stabil and fuel in the carb can I just drain the carb and stabil the tanks?

Sean sounds like a stater issue if the battery is "hot" . Drain the carb (Holley?) by removing a lower float bowl screw in front and rear and call it good. Put the appropriate amount of stabil in the tanks "fog" the motor thru the spark plug holes if you cant get it to crank and relax for the winter Tom

Mix up some Marvel Mystery oil with a little gas and add it to the carb thru the bowl vents. It will keep the internal parts soft and usable. Come spring, do it again and exercise the acc pump(s). Drying up is about the worst thing that can happen to a carb and results in stuck floats, clogged jets and cracked diaphragms......Same can be said about mechanical f/pumps that fail next year and fill the pan with fuel, not a good thing..........You didn't mention changing the oil and running the engine before winter storage.....Old oil WILL etch the bearings with pollutants and greatly reduce engine life......Ray

me too. I hate starters. Why cant shit on the top break.

Oil is a fresh change with about 2 hours on it of fully synthetic.Oil still looks clean on the dip stick Will try to fill bowl thru vents just in case. Depending on how busy i am i may still be able to get her to the water this winter depending on my schedule.
