i was wonding if any one else is running a sidewinder. i dont know much about my boat it was built in the 79' by performance marine in langley in b.c. canada. just wonding if any body knows of any pro's or con's other pics? ect...

no and what site? you got pics of the boat? where you looking for a sidewinder? and why? do you know anything about the boat you bought? where is was built ect? i had many poeple come up to me telling to call them if i wanted to sell i bin offered lots of money for it but it is a family airlume i can't sell it or i would be dead. im really not allowed to change is color ect.

My boat is a rare sidewinder built in Anderson cal. Its a "73" the last year they built them there because the factory burned down. mine is a lo-pro. not many around I only have a pic of it up side down on photobucket rite now. but if you go to that site you will find the info your looking for.

I have 1975 16' jetser that looks like it was popped out of the same mold. It came with a 351W and 12JE pump. I run solid lifter cam from clay smith, ported heads with larger valves. Fun little boat. Runs 62mph,and very strong to that point. Great on smooth water, pounds on rough water.

mine is a clone, 74 19SS CobraJet built in Milwaukee wis, the funny thing is all the others are 18 ft, havent seen any other ss in a 19 ft setup

i can't find what modle mine is i saw one brochur of a diffrent year that had one pick that looked like it. that site sucks sooooooo baaaaaaad it is taking forever to even get an account it syas its acctive but waiting for approvel....... its bin 2 days. whats your deck look like is it like mine or even lower. you have a pic of the top? the deck edge looks to sharp to be the same. there is sure not alot that look like ours it sure seems they focused on outboards and those 16 foot boats. im really starting to get frustraded trying to find out what it really is.

I have seen 4-other's in my area in 24yrs... I'm 4hrs. inland from you

I suppose If you wanted one, they are getting harder to find... I have heard that some (B.C.) guys have found old wacker models and converted them to inboard jets to have one

They are not a really fast hull, but are known for their smooth ride, and generous interior room... good family boats

looking for one.... no own one..hand.. i've run out that way a couple of times osoyose, i love mine. it is the most stable boat i have ever driven. not that i have... but my mother has put that boat in to a full turn at top speed, it just turned. the only thing we had issues is the back seat broke off once, driver seat twice (my uncle), and my mother snaped the cast alum foot pedal in half at the pivot

I think they make a great boat that has Performance and quality not seen by other boats... But i have found the consoles to be to small for anyone over 6ft tall and the vent for the fuel tank fills up with water which makes it hard to refill with gas. Anyone think of anything of had that we can let Legend know of?

i had a 71 that was built in palo alto ca. wasn't a bad boat in the chop sturdy boat .looked like that black with the windshield exactly.

did you say yours was a clone? if so how did you tell? i have bin told there is a vin on the transom in the fiber glass but i could find it on mine

from what I have read, the clones are those that have the angles on the outer edges of the transom. they go by many different names, but I think I read in Canada they were still called sidewinder but they are different than the CA. winders. I dont really know why the lo pros are called clones or splashes of the original lo pro sidewinder because they really are nothing alike. although I have never seen a great pic of the bottom of a splash, I would like to see a pic of the bottom of some.

sidewinder h.i.n. (hull id #'s) are on the right side of the transom, if your boat has been painted they could have been filled in. mine were but when I sanded down to them I was able to learn alot about my boat on the sidewinder site and by Dan Milford, a guy that has been documenting them for years.another guy that knows a bunch about them is "old rigger" here on the boards. this topic has came around in the past on this site.
