Bullards Bar is a nice lake when the water isn't too low. I was up there 3 weeks ago and the water level was still ok, about 50' down. The water is a cool emerald color and looks like it might be cold but in reality it is usually around 80 degrees. There is some boat in camping but I would say the water is too low right now...too much of a hike up from the water line to the camp site. We ended up staying at a camp ground about 10 mile away at a small (no power boat) lake named Lake Francis. The ammenity there are nicer than the campgrounds around Bullards Bar. They have showers, flush toilets, and power. The 10 mile drive isn't bad if you rent a slip at Bullards and leave the boat in the water. If you choose to trailer the boat back and forth it is a pain to launch and retreive every day. Go check it out, it is worth the drive.
