I have a quick question to put out there...

The boat I am working on has a Dominator Jet Pump in it, (a pre-14000 serial number) and it is needing a full rebuild.

In a parts boat I have, there is a rebuilt Berkeley Pump. A 12JC or 12JE.

I'd have to check which one of the Berkeley Pumps it has...

My question is: Are the two pumps interchangable without modification?

What I mean is, can I pull the Berkeley pump out of the parts boat and just drop it into the boat I'm working on (the one with the Dominator Pump currently), with no mods to deal with?

I would appreciate any feedback that anyone can offer!

thanks!

I know for certain the JE pump will not work, although the JC/JG may.

Thanks for that...

I did check out an article that talked about the Berkeley "E" pump being one that was "Glassed in" to the boat's hull or something like that.

I'm just hoping to be able to switch pumps to save me a bit of time and $$$.

The JC should bolt in place of the Dominator,
But if it was me I would hold on to the Dominator
and get it back into the boat when possible.

Thank you Outlaw...

I have heard that the Dominator Pump is better than the Berkeley...

The re-build kit for the Dominator from Performance Boats (Tom) is under $300 so that is probably the way to go.

I am just completely rebuilding this whole boat and I want to hit the water by the end of the month if possible...

As Outlaw said the 12jc and the Domy in your situation , are interchangable (jet for jet) with the exception of the transom adaptors (the Dominator Bowl OD is slightly larger) This means the TA must stay with the respective bowl (Berk or Dom) , ALL of these jets share similar and "somewhat" interchangable parts ,pieces and components with the exception some combinations of Bowls, impellers and "grease slinger (behind the bearing, thew Dom is larger od than Berk by about .125 ) The E is included in this "mix" of "interchange" except the E suction which is completely different (but similar to Legend and the Dom 12 td) . All of these jets are relatively DIY "freindly" to work on or service, call if you need more info and /or coaching Tom

Thank you Tom for all your info!

Sorry I got the name of your business wrong... I had it as "Performance Boats" but it is "Jet Boat Performance"!

I'll call you as soon as I get to the jet part of my project...( I'm still finishing up the motor now...) and order the Dom rebuild kit.

Many Thanks Again!
