I'm going to my daughter's in Baker City in 2 weeks. Will be taking my '69 Bug to give to my grand-daughter. Plan on towing it behind the MH.

I really don't want to be without a vehicle for the return trip and run-around while I'm up there, and would rather be towing my Jeep.

Is anyone going up that way and can tow the VW, at least to the general area? I can always drive from Baker City to Boise/Twin Falls/ Nampa etc., once I get up there to pick up the Bug.

I've got all the tow gear, lights, etc. and there's a couple hundy in it to help offset gas and trouble.

Thanks in advance. :)

Just hook a tow bar from the VW to the Jeep. Easy deal.

You have the 24-hour get-out-of-jail-free card anyway.

Seems cheaper and less of a PITA to just buy a VW once you get there.

You live in AZ, talk about the long arm of the law...
I taught my daughter well. SHE will see to it that nothing happens to my baby.

I thought about doing the double tow, but don't want to end up leap frogging for 1,200 miles, once some state trooper parks my ass on the side of the highway.

This Bug is special. I restored it myself, so just "any" VW wouldn't cut it. I'm keeping title as a lein holder, so it can't be sold. Once my Grand daughter (16) leaves home or gets something else, it'll be handed down to my Grandson (now 12) and then #2 Grand daughter (10). When she's done with it, I'll be retired and living up in that area, so I'll be able to reclaim it, then RE-restore it top shape.

How about borrowing a big car trailer and put the jeep and bug on it, they should both fit a larger flat bed or car hauler..? just an idea......

My brother is headed from Phoenix to Idaho in a week and a half. I'm not sure exactly what day he is leaving but he is taking his truck and not towing anything. I'm sure he would be up for making a couple of bucks. Hope we can help.
