I'm putting the cart in front of the horse here a bit, but I'm putting together the pieces/parts for the new boat and would be curious to hear what some guys are running on theirs.

Here's the skinny so far........

Backcut shoe and rideplate. The shoe is just barely above the keel line with no shim installed. Looks to be about 1/16" above or so (maybe a little less). Shoe looks like about a 2 or 3 degree backcut, but can't be sure. The only shim that came with it is a .122" which if installed will drop the shoe down to about 1/16" below the keel. Don't want to be overly aggressive so I've put just the shoe (no shim) in for now.

I've installed the whole shim pack for the rideplate which puts it up approximately 2 degrees.

The loader appears to have some block to it and like all the rest of the stuff, I'm hoping will work o.k.

It has a short droop snoot with the lettering JBE on it. I haven't seen one of these yet, but it looks a lot like the short Berkeley droop. I've installed a single 2 degree wedge on it and it's in a down position. Not sure if it would prefer down or up here.

I realize that no two boats will have the exact same setup, but I'm looking for some baselines to start with.

Rumor has it that the boat ran 100 mph with about 800 hp before it was all taken apart. I haven't go a clue as to what the setup was.......only that I believe these were the parts he was runnuing at the time. I'll only be running 500 hp on the motor and 650 hp on the bottle.

Thanks

Dan

droop

I have the same droop as you, It came with my boat when I purchased it 3 years. I am guessing Jet Boat Engineering.... I have never seen another one either..

That would seem to be a good starting point.

If you have a GPS you might want to see how it run's with the wedge as is and w/o it . And don't forget the itake pressure gauge if you want to know what's going on.

since you run a diverter the only purpose of the wedge is to lower and/or raise your thrust point

oh yeah, and install stiffeners on your rideplate

It would've been done already, but my metal supply shop was closed.
The local hardware stores supply of aluminum is not very extensive.

Dan, How long is the rideplate? Looks a bit short .......
I'll get a measurement on it. Haven't checked it yet.
