I have some disturbing news from our main man at Bass Lake. Seems the boat show will not be there this year. It's a sad case when in this economy, or anytime for that matter, when greed powers decisions that ultimately effect those of us who enjoy having a good time. Not to mention spend our hard earned dollars to do it. According to my sources, the parking lot in which the show has been in the past 7yrs, has become a valuable piece of property. They want 5x the amount of $$$$$ as in the past yrs to use it. Not to mention, the lodge (Pines) would not block off rooms for attendies as they had done in the past. Plus a rate hike. WHO DOES THAT !!!:))ThumbsDwn :bangmyhead: I know I don't stand alone in this. The Bass Lake show is one of the coolest events. Brian & the CVDCA do a great job in promoting the sport we all love. The group of people who show up every year with a boat, or just to spectate, are always treated to some of the nicest hardware around. AND WE SPEND $$$$. I guess they don't need the $$$, nor do they care if they have customers or not.

The show, from what I know, is in the process of being moved to the casino down the rd. I can't speak for Brian so I don't know all the details about that part of it. If I hear more I will post it.

There is a boat / car show the Sunday before on Bass Lake in which none of the before mentioned people have anything to do with. And you can run your boat from the launch ramp by the dam over to Millers Landing where the show is. Millers is a kool little spot to hang out. Great burgers too. And they want us.....SHOCKING:)devil So if your around that weekend, come on up & join us in making this event a fun time.

Yea, the Pines Village has new owners once again. From what I understand one if the new owners has been running the Pines Marina for several years. As far as I'm concerned, he is an ass. His world revolves around the almighty $$$$. I stopped going there years ago. I now spend all my vacation money with the kind people at Millers Landing. Great people, food and cabins. I'm sure they will love having us there.

We've been having the Bass Lake Boat Fest since 2006, this would have been our 8th show in a row but unfortunatly greed comes into play. The Pines Resort use to give us the parking lot no charge, then about 3 years they bumped it up to $250.00 for the weekend which was reasonable. Now the new owner wants $1000.00 for 3 days of parking lot, fuck that. The show is now at the Chukchansi Casino in Coursegold, Cal.

Don't want to let your secret out Chris, but that place might be an option for future "day trips". Can't call it a show without all the legal crap screwing shit up.

This really sucks ass especially for you central & northern guys.... I`d like to attend this one since I was the Electrical contractor on the first phase of that hotel/casino... When I lived up there for a year I found some cool places to go boating..

I have three Chalet's rented at the resort for the entire week for my family reserved with the understanding the show was going to be at the resort. I have emailed them this morning sharing a little frustration. We will see what if any results we get. I told them with the chalets, food and bar expenses that week my family alone will be contributing close to $10,000.00.

Lou II...as usual you are speaking for yourself..I personally plan on Making Money while I am there...the frustration comes from having to rent a table to do autographs..that means they won't be free as I had planed..but with increased cost of fuel and all...I will have to charge around 32.00 per autograph...

$32 each?? No prob RCL, I'll take 2!! I'll have you "autograph" the bottom of my bar tab one night and the other trade it for a Speed Boat Racer autograph!!! Might have to kick in a bit of cash to get SBRs but still sounds like a "win-win"!!!.

I do hope the principals find another venue for this show. I've missed it last few years but swore I'd be there this year!!

So, is it now official that the show has been moved to the Casino in Coursegold and if so what are the dates ? Also, does anyone know if the Casino is going to have a Boat Show rate package with blocked off rooms?

Thanks, Steve
