This is a boating website. If you want someone to stuff your BOWELS from Berkeley, I would Google something like "liberal hippy west coast fag" and go from there. :D

no clear answer, your clearance will be different if you are using a shouldered wear ring as opposed to a non shouldered wear ring, there is some height differences in the various brands of impellers, also some differences in the brands of shafts, and it is not rare to find that someone has shaved the bowl to draw it up closer. either accurately measure your depth or use clay to determine your clearances, i prefer to make my stuffers in a conical shape and mount them into the concave area as opposed to setting them on the lip, lot less clearance issues,if you want to cut it once measure several times to get it right. i think you will be pleased with your effort.

A bowl stuffer is made to decrease volume in the bowl. The clearance between the impeller backing and the face of the stuffer should be at least .015 15 thousands. Everyones got an opinnion but just use pastiage and get it to just pass ten. Then figure you take another clean up cut. A lathe is require to clearance it. don't just screw a piece of material in and then clean it up and to big of a gap doesn't benefit you either. A bowl stuffer that fuctions correctly the water exists the impellor and heads straight to the veins, with to big of a gap, just for example pressure in the bowl increases weel with a big clearance between the stuffer and the impellor you now have water sliding between them going from one end to the other. Figure its six inches of routing that would be beneficial to head straight out the bowl.

With this i have no experience with stuffers :D right Tom :)hand

Don what bowl / impeller are you running? I've got a few pumps impellers and bowls, if you need to measure anything.
