Have a Hal craft water cooled V-drive,small block Chevy with a neovane pump. What is the proper way to plump this set up to cool the v drive. Thanks JOHN SR
Have a Hal craft water cooled V
Force feed pick in to v-drive and dump out to shaft log.
Yep........what he said! To elaborate, install a thru-hull -6 pickup slightly to the rear of the v-drive so the -6 line is easy to route into the box. Then, drill/tap the aluminum log for 1/4" NPT to -6 male fitting. Run the discharge -6 line to that to dump the water. Do not even consider looping the v-drive into your water pump engine cooling system.Have a Hal craft water cooled V

Now with all that being said, run a good quality synthetic lubricant (Lucas, Redline, etc.) and don't bother with the water cooling. JMO, Jocko
