I need to get pointed in the right direction. We took the boat out to Shasta Saturday. It did great all day except for one issue that came up 4 or 5 hours in.
Cruising at 3000 to 3500 RPM everything was fine. As soon as I tried to accelerate up over 4000 RPM the engine would cut out almost like it was running out of gas. I showed a 1/4 tank which is the lowest I have been but figured I should top off at Holiday Harbor. Once filled up we started up the McCloud arm and again when I throttled up the engine would cut out at around 4000 RPM. We finished our day and made the run back to Jones Valley where it would cut out at times when pushing up to 4000 RPM and at times would run WOT.
Where should I start? It's a stock marine 427 BBC with a stock Quadrajet fed by an oem manual fuel pump. Fuel filter was changed about 15 hours ago.
