A 48-year-old Lake Havasu City man was arrested Monday on eight felony charges including possession of dangerous drugs for sale and possession of precursor chemicals, both class 2 felonies.

Robert Kim Ross, aka Kimmy, was arrested after Lake Havasu City Police detectives served a search warrant at a residence in the 3700 block of McCulloch Boulevard and found methamphetamine, marijuana and prescription drugs with a street value of more than $70,000, according to a department press release.

Along with 10 ounces of methamphetamine and 30 ounces of marijuana, police detectives seized more than 2,000 illegally obtained prescription pills, including Oxycontin, Oxycodone, Percoset, Valium and Xanax. Eight rifles, eight handguns and more than $1,900 cash also were seized.

Detectives found several ounces of red phosphorous, a chemical commonly used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, in the garage of the residence, resulting in the charge of possession of precursor chemicals. There was no evidence that methamphetamine had been manufactured on the premises, according to police Lt. Rich Sloma.

In addition to the two class-2 felony charges, Ross was charged with possession of a firearm during a drug offense, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of marijuana for sale, all class 4 felonies. The remaining charges were possession of prescription only drugs for sale, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, class 6 felonies.

A second suspect, Darrin T. Kesslar, 38, also of Lake Havasu City, was arrested and charged with one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both Ross and Kesslar appeared before Judge Pro Tempore Robert Mammano in Lake Havasu City Consolidated Court Tuesday. Kesslar was held on a $1,000 bond and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for June 27.

Ross was held on a $2,000 bond and a preliminary hearing was scheduled, also for June 27. Ross has several felony charges pending from October, including two counts of misconduct involving weapons, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony theft, Sloma said.

Lake Havasu City Police were assisted in the arrests and seizure by their Special Weapons and Tactics Team, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Mohave County Sheriff's Office

Darrin was the salesman for Magic about 2 years ago. I bought my boat from him, nice guy but couldnt put it down I guess. And Ron M. gave him plenty of chances, too bad. NSF

The second bond I can see but the first one for $2K, out in twenty minutes and gone is how I see this going down. Something seems out of place here, probably a typo.

So why, with all this other stuff pending, wouldn't you just revoke the bond that he's obviously out on for those cases and get this guy off the street??? He's got even more incentive to skip out now. :)sphss
