I always give a good look in and around my engine while it's running in the marina before taking off for the day. On Sunday, it looked like I had oil swirling around in my sea strainer. I'm as color blind as anyone so I chalked it up to shitty marina water.
I ran down to the Springs and hung out. At the end of the day, about five minutes on plane the drive gave a really bad screeching and we came to a stop. The smell of gear oil was strong. We didn't get back on the trailer until 11pm and the boat went back into storage. I'm thinking about just picking up a used bravo 1 and letting it rip. Does anyone think the gimble bearing could be bad. I know the drive is bad, but don't know the extent. I can rotate the prop with a little force in gear. If oil is running through my water would the case be broke or just a seal?
