I was there. I waited until most were done for the evening. I figured the water looked like it had layed down enough, I made my pass and hung it out a little more then I usualy would and when i shut it down, I hit the rough water that I could not see when i started my pass. it was NOT a smooth shut down to say the least and something told me that the water wasint going to get any better and to not make another pass. so I went into shore where my girlfriend was watching. He made a pass coming into the cove where the water was good, then made the next pass leaving the cove and hit the same rough water that I hit. I watched him run and was helpless. you could hear as the roar of the engine went silent. As I stood there and my girlfriend was stuck to me like glue, we hoped and prayed he would be ok. When we saw the heicopter search lights, we put the boat on the trailer and made a silent trip home. All along the way I could not stop thinking about Him and his family and how quickly this tragedy happend and How sorry we are for their loss
