Photos would help and the location. Might do better not painting it and let the buyer do his/her own thing.

I agree. It's too easy to fill with bondo than do it right with glass. Maybe this was a fly-by. Only one post and it's in the wrong forum thread.

Not bashing just I think it's better for a person to see what they are getting. I know I have a project boat that where the previous person filled holes, everything is popping out because they just filled in with bondo, painted over it and it won't stay. I didn't know you were going to post something for sale and in the wrong thread and then not come back for several days to see what had been said.

YOU ARE WELCOME!! Just tried to save you and your name!

Exactly. I would LOVE to have a shovelnose. Some pic's of before, during and after would be great! Who knows, maybe the buyer would want to choose their color? My current boat is a great example of what people can hide. Not saying you are at all, but I have been doing glass work for the last 3 months now and hopefully I can put it in the water for Fathers day. My boat was "turn key" when I bought it. Yes the key turns and it starts, but that was about it... LOL..

Mine was a turn key boat as well... Just that the motor blew up within the forst 2 miles of running it. I have some glass work to do on it too. Then it's on to the new project boat.

I was afraid of that one too. My motor is great, but I have my fingers crossed on the jet. I was about to take it out a few weeks ago, but when I started to put the stereo back in I noticed a the glass on the bulkhead was peeling back a little. When I pulled the carpet back there was a 24" crack in the bulkhead. I knew it had nailed a dock at some point because of the stress cracks on the deck, but had no idea it hit that hard! Anyway, the new bulkhead is in and now if the weather would clear, I'll take it out for a trial run...

The V-drive section is probably the best place to ask this question. Lots of guys doing restos on boats like this. And throw up some pics.

sanger boat

here are some pic. the hull is in great shape, I'm not using bondo, I'm using mar glass. I sanded the old paint down to the gel coat, then I'm going to prime with feather fill primer, long block it down, then reprime and wet sand and paint. I'm not a hack, I try to take pride in my work. Sorry for the bad blog earlier.

Black with purple old school graphics. Mild motor and just a fun clean showpiece.. I used to do paint work as well. Still do for myself. I've had a thing for these since I was a kid. What else do you have for the boat and where are you at? My wife may kill me for even thinking about it, but hey.

sanger

I have it in primer, as of today, hopefully by monday or tuesday it will be painted, I'm in lincoln Ca. I'm thinking of painting it gun metal gray, and in the middle of the hull, marbelize it, with candy blue or candy tangering.

Is this the boat that was for sale on CL for 2 yrs without a trailer and bad stringers? The price of a boat is reative to what someone is willing to pay. So much depends on so much. Like what else does it have, I am going to say a bare hull painted nice and a good trailer is 4500 up maybe........ Generaly one with bad paint but good hull condition with a dual axle trailer sells for 1500 to 2k... I have had and sold two in that form...... Todays market that may be less...............
