Does anyone care to share you they use for boat insurance. My old company does not insure boats with "exposed motors" any longer. Thanks in advance.
If I were you I would hit up wozencraft ins. I was going to have her do mine but she isnt licenced for utah. Much to my surprise I was able to get my daytona insured through a local progressive agent. The 1st time I tried it was a no-go. The second time/agent I told that if he could ins. the boat....I would give him my house and autos too. Whooda thunk that would work.lolgrn I am told there mph cap is 75.Does anyone care to share you they use for boat insurance. My old company does not insure boats with "exposed motors" any longer. RUN and get a different policy. I have had AMFAM for all my insurance for 10 years and they also insured (past tense) my boats. The first boat I owned was hit from behind on the freeway and totalled. They only paid me $4300. It had more than $15000 in it. Even the marine surveyor told them it was worth 10k yet the settlement was only $4300. My agent took pictures and put them in my file and when the claim was made AMFAM said that I was luck that they gave me the $4300 cause they dont cover jet boats with open motors or headers. Needless to say they no longer insure any of my toys. I would talk to your agent and get in writing that they will cover you and for what amount. Just to be sure!my boat is insured through american family pay under 20$ a month and no pics were needed. but iv had the same agent for 15+ years.
This is reality. Most think they have insurance but really don't.Be sure to declare the honest top speed. It is in the agent's best financial interest to reduce the speed number down to lure you into a policy or a less expensive policy. If you do this you really have no insurance, but are paying them as if you do. If an accident occurs, the company, not the agent now stands to benefit by canceling the policy and not covering the accident based on fraudulent declaration of speed. If no expensive accident occurs then everyone's happy.
