When I sold my 36' Gibson houseboat last fall the new prospective owner hired Nor Cal to haul it out for a survey. I owned this boat for 16 years and had seen it hauled out many times so when I saw this guy putting the trailer only 3/4 the way under it I freaked. His last bunk ended under the cabin leaving the complete rear deck and engine compartment with a V-8 Mercruiser with no support (about 8' plus). He said "he did it that way all the time and the new prospective owner was paying and he (Nor Cal) was insured". At that point I figured let him break the boat I'll get my money one way or the other. It didn't break so I guess all is well. Draw your own conclusions.

Going back and reading the original complaint, how much were they going to charge you to paint the bottom? What kind of boat shop doesn't have the room to store and work on a boat?

I'd hit up the Better business bureau ....... They can be good at helping make someone follow up with thier obligations. You can also tell if they have a history of doing this. I can't believe how people run their businesses sometimes. Seriously..... return the phone calls! .......

Here.......They have a good history with the BBB.

Sometimes the BBB doesn't really have all the information on their web site as to what compaints have been lodged. Also, I think they leave out complaints that have been resolved. The boat industry needs something like BAR (bureau of automotive repair).

Greg thanks for the kind words.
If anybody needs service, parts or just advice feel free to call on me anytime.
I may not have all the answers but I've been around long enough to have some pretty good contacts.
This may be yet another shameless plug but this is proving to be the most difficult winter for us ever. Thanks in advance to all that may send a few our way in these humbling times.

From my family to all of yours, May you have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a safe and prosperous NEW YEAR!!!
