My Dad raced Bonneville from the mid 50's through the mid 70's. Lot of memories as a kid.

He put 3 guys in the 200 mph club by the mid 60's.. One of his records stood nearly 40 years.

Gary Gabelich, who set the world land speed record at 622mph, was a family friend of ours. We used to go skiing with him in Parker throughout the 70s. He jumped off the Parker Dam for $100 on a Sunday morning in 73 or so. At the time we all thought it was hilarious. He later was killed in a motorcycle accident on the 405 fwy. My dad was devastated about it.
