Thats a good question. It has to be an anticipated spark figured from the last time the reluctor passed the pickup and the rpms. HMMM! Unsure:notsure:Yeah, I read that. Not a big fan of retards that don't have the benefit if a cam location device, or a shutter wheel like on the LS. You think about it, that box is trying to calculate the amount of retard based on RPM. It's only referance is the speed of the crank. Thats asking alot of a processor to determine the speed of the crank, and delay the spark the precise amount for the required timing. No thanks. I feel the same way about programmable timing computors that are 100% dependent on the RPM to termine the timing.
Now here is one for you. He says the timing was ADVANCED. How the hell does the timer fire BEFORE the reluctor wheel passes the pickup? All the timers are retard from max timing. They can't advance the timing before they are triggered, they can only delay the spark. something that makes me go MMMMMM, but then, alot of things Maxi does makes me go MMMMM:wink2:
funny that Mazi has that high dollar whizz bang timer in that boat with a stone age drippling dripping MFI setup. In the race boat he went with a ignition of the same era as the stone age induction. A 1901 Wright Bros sparker
Ronco? Isn't that the company that made the "pocket fisherman?"
