I have not owned an outdrive for a lot of years-I recently purchased an older (2001) Formula Fastech 292 w/Bravo 1's: First lesson-don't try to trim them up and beach the bow as the low water intakes will suck up stuff and you will idling home for 3.5 hours dumbass.

Anyway-3 questions:
1) I am still getting too hot so should I pull raw water pumps/inspect-pull manifold/risers/inspect to determine blockage (or is there a way to truly flush them out?)
2) Can I get the lower unit with both pick-ups on them including the side mounted ones like I used to have?
3) What is the best option for fresh water flush kit for the 350 Mag MPI w/o using the nose cone on the outdrive? I would like a kit that mounts inside that I can connect the garden hose to.

1 pull the raw pump probably need a impeller and or housing
2 all the nose cone deals block the two side and use a low water pickup below the bullet
3 plumb to the sea strainer or into the inlet line to the raw pump

may also check the transom housing fitting where the line from the drive comes thru, there is a hose adapter held with a wedge thats bad for
restriction

Also check the oil coolers, there are only 1/4" holes for which water can flow through....Back flush everything....

I have some decent dual water pickup lower cases I could put your gears in you could get buy with a lower with just side pickups in 2001 the low water pickup was the "
"high performance"drive but on the v hull it dosen't need it if it runs cool at idle then gets hot under load it's got a restriction if it just gets hot probably needs an impeller if I remember right the 01 cooling system was just water in and dump out the exhaust I made a back flush device that uses water and compressed air to back flush the system let me know if I can be of any help

Anyone use a remote water pick up? I replaced the risers/manifolds/impeller but was thinking about bypassing the lower unit intakes all together. thx
