I read someplace a while back Mercury created a special kinda aluminum that is salt water resistant.
Is this for the aluminum engine blocks, or the entire engine and drive train?

I have a damaged Bravo 3 skeg I want to weld, and I'd like to use the correct aluminum.
I have a hellofva welder to do the work so that part is no problem.

What aluminum is this, and where do I get some, if in fact it's some proprietary metal Merc uses?

Thanks for your takes, tips and tales.

Mercury makes replacement skegs that we use. Just cut to fit your needs.

Thanks, I'll look into that.
Amazing Merc never made the skeg replaceable without welding.
