.....on a BBC. Everything else stayed together. Rocker arm and pushrod look ok. Anybody else experience this? I'm hoping that it's not a more serious issue than just a warn out or beat up part.
It's a Manley and they're about 8 years old. It broke right in front of the rocker arm stud.?if it broke where it was bent, and the others show what looks like a pinch mark where they form it, it's pretty common. The good ones are more radiused where they bend them and they don't break
Those guide plates are very brittle and not always flat at where they bolt to the head. When they are torqued down I have heard them crack during the torque process.
