Cable question

950 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  BrotherWolf
I just put a place divertor on and the cable that runs the reverse gate/bucket doesnt have the bulkhead clamp and nuts on it like the new cable. What it has goes around the cable and has threads on it to clamp down on the cable/hold the cable which I guess would be a bulkhead clamp? , My problem is its to big to go threw the hole. Do they make a smaller one in diameter that will fit threw or do I have to buy new cable??????

That is incredibly difficult to read/understand.

Place Diverter cables/forward reverse cables have a big end and a small end and you have to run the cable correctly to get it through anything.
i recently installed a place diverter on my yj energizer kit. i really like the big cable that it uses for the diverter! most applications use this bigger cable on their reverse bucket too. mine is the same cable just a smaller diamiter!!
i had to call the place i got my diverter from, tell them wassup, and the sent me a smaller peice that it screws into on the bucket!

It would be helpful if you identified pump make and model. Adding a pic would be a good idea.

The threaded housing end is the "bulkhead" end. The end with just a narrow groove is the "clamp" end. Some pumps use a cable with just clamp ends. The common pumps use a cable with one of each, called a BC cable, which has a bulkhead connection at one end and clamp-style at the other. Standard size for most reverse cables is a 43, so a convential Berkeley style pump would use a 43BC.

Did I mention a pic would be quite helpful? :D
here is a pick...Im probaly calling it the wrong thing but I was 3 sheets to the wind when I started this thread.

cant tell from the pic, but is there any possibility that this is an adapter sleeve that is screwed over the cable. i know i have seen some made by aggressor in there kits that let you reuse your exixting cable in their kit. will it screw off ?
that piece thats looks like a bolt splits in to two pieces and the cable goes threw the middle of it. Anyway I took the arm have off and I took a stepped drill bit to it from the top and down and then from the bottom and up just enough to get it to fit. I called the place I got it from and all they wanted to do was sell me a newer cable...ugh

ya you could call it that a adapter sleeve, it splits into then ya put it over the cable and then you put the nuts on it etc....the problem was that it was to big to go threw the hole... But not anymore.:D
