Can anyone give me information about this lake. From where I live, I would be going to the north side of the lake. Where do you launch?. Is this a good boating lake? Does it get really crowded?. I use to hear alot about it when I lived in Fremont. Some people would talk about going there with their jet ski's.They seemed to really like it.

Been there twice, 1st and last time !!!!!!!

Friends used to have a trailer at the Lake, back in the day.
Windy during the day, lots of jet skiers. Morning and Evening were fine for running around. I remember the camping looked nice and well kept, we just stayed at the Trailer Park ! Worth a tank load of gas, a day is more than you'd need to see it all.

North launch is a ranger station and has lots of parking, stores, supplies and a large ramp.

Camanche is pretty small in comparison to many of the central valley reservoirs. It has a main body of water with many shallows and sand bars out in the middle, so you will find your depth finder alarms going off when the water level is down to about 75%. There are a couple of channels that go off to the northeast but are 5 mph zones if you want to just sitback and enjoy the sun.

Camanche is known for great fishing... you'll find lots of fishing boats out there. If your are looking for some space to open your boat up and go fast, this aint the place for a big boat. If your looking to relax and take a few sprints here and there it will be just fine. Enjoy!
