Buddy is building a 522ci, AFR full CNC heads, 10-71 Little Fields, blower shop intercoolers, 8.25:1 static. Gonna be a hyd roller around 680-700 lift custom cam.

Right now he has a pair of 4150 "930" Nickerson carbs. These carbs are 750 bodies, that nickerson ground the choke towers off, and did his porting or whatever he does to get them to supposedly flow 930cfm. My buddy plans to try and run 10-12psi on pump gas with this combo, and hopefully make over 1000hp.

He's worried the carbs will be too small for him. Nickerson told him he might want a pair of dominators. Any thoughts?

At 6000 he needs 900 cfm each
At 6000 he needs 825 cfm each
Both should be consider minimums at 12 lbs

If they REALLY flow 930, he should be OK.

These 750 carb bodies scare me. Is it possible to get 930 cfm out of them ? These carbs make me think of the holley 950s that don't flow anywhere near 950 :/

It would take a lot more than milled choke horns to get them to flow 930.
Yeah, you are correct, the original 950 HP does not flow as well as a 850.
My 2 cents, he will come up short of optimum for that setup. 2 1050 Doms would be a much better choice. But at least 2 950 Ultra HPs which flow much better than the original 950 HP.

What would your final compression ratio be? Will pump gas be enough?

If he is trying to save the fuel lines, carb adaptor, and flame arrestor, I'd give AED a call and see what they can do to get him the 1000 CFM range with a 4150 blower carb.

It is possible to get 950+ out of a 750 and used to be a common build. You use larger base plate (larger throttle blades) the milling of the choke shroud is only worth appox 50 cfm

You're going to have do more than a larger base and milled choke.
That pretty much the same as a Holley 950 HP. 850 base under a 750 body. They don't flow as much as a 4781 850 DP
