what are the differences in 1050 dominators with a 2 circut and a 3 circut? I have a 572 with a 14 71, and was told by the machine shop that I cant use these carbs. Well they worked perfect on a 598 and the 1471. So why is he saying It will not be possible to use these without damaging the motor.

It has to do with how the fuel is routed through the metering block I believe. Sounds to me like they want another pair of carbs sale:D

well, i'm taking my motor out of there as is. fock him and his dyno. speedomotive sucks!:|err

Jim Guthrie kind of told me you want the 2 circuit for a lake boat.. (Cruzing around) 3 circuit for racing...

Jim knows his stuff so I never questioned him...

definately go 2 circuit on a lake crusier, its just plain easier to tune that way;) and will drink less gas.

thanks for the responce. 2 circuit is what I have and what i'm using. Just makes me think of how much more of a POS speedomotive is.

My combo is a 588ci Blown BBF 12-71 Hampton.
Had Jim Guthrie set my 1050's up for that set up. He never said anything bad about the set up or the carbs beeing to small for the cubes...

You'r shit will work fine!!!

well this guy that owns speedo, says he will hire people that know more than him about this kind of shit. He says he has been doing this for 40 years and basically he thinks he is smarter and knows more than anybody else. This is why he will not dyno my motor. Well fck him

No reason to run a 1150 carb on a 598 you can make a set of 4150 850's run if properly setup.
the dominators are a drag carb.

So who should I have set up the carbs that I already have, since I don't want to dump more $$ in new carbs.

Call C&J engineering they are in Whittier ca ph 562 946-1388 I have done
allot of investigating from what I hear they are the best around
trust me call them. they will be doing mine . just my 02 worth.

how much boost are you running? I am running 598's at 9 psi and we had to do some major mods to our 1150 annular's to get them to flow enough fuel to get the egt's down.
I want to run about 9 psi. How much power are you making with 9 psi?

What kind of RPM will you see. Theres a formula for required cfm. I'll see if I can find it tonight. something of CI , RPM, BOOST,ETC. I am running a 572 w/10-71 25% od, w/1290 Demons. They have 3 idle circuits, but I will be mostly using this for lake racing.

Your right on rpm & boost they will need all your info when they setup
the carbs. they will fax you a sheet to fill out with all your motor
