Had a beer at the casino this afternoon. Heard a guy order the fish and chips followed by an inquiry as to the type of fish, followed by a carp comment. It was not well received. But funny none the less.:)hand

Before or after...... they' re floating??:p
I was thinking of getting a smoker for the floating ones and making carp jerkey.
Laugh at carp all you want!!! In northwest Iowa it is a game fish. Some of the best stuff I have eaten.

Want to know more, post up!
That post just begs for a hillbilly response of somekind. I just don't want to spend the time to think of something witty. It would be wasted on people that eat carp anyway.

Hey, here in Havasu chicks with one front tooth are considered game too, but that doesn't mean I would want to eat one. :D
They are trash fish here, like gar and grinnel. :)

Oh great, Kilr turned you?
Is it getting any better out there?
Best Carp recipe:

You get one of those wooden planks to BBQ fish on (follow the directions to prep plank).

BBQ it until fish meat flakes

Throw the fish away and eat the plank.
I was at Windsor a couple times today working on the October boat and it was just fine, but I did see these guys http://www.performanceboats.com//showthread.php?t=40731
Only better because anyone who makes their lively hood by tourism on the water is plucking them out. The city has a crew boating around grabbing them out. I think they are doing a good job from what I have seen over the last week.

Dead ones all over the lake still. I found from the sand bar north none. If you go south near the dam the water is stagnant and mucho carpo. Did not make us want to stay. We turned north toward steamboat where it was much better.

Is this the members of the city council?

That there is a true classic that's gotta go on a sig...:D
Have you been to northwest Iowa???? Or do you keep it in the Havasu mulch?? If you haven't tried it, why dis it???

I am sure there is plenty in Havasu you will not munch, but northern Iowa carp is definitely edible:)hand:)hand:):)punch
Years ago when I first started coming to Havasu and I smoked, I flicked a cigarette butt into the water (I know, I know, I was a P.O.S for littering. Don't do it anymore) and a bunch of carp swam up and started fighting over the butt. Someone next to me said.................they'll eat anything...........they are the White Trash of fish:D

Aren't they already carp jerky even when fresh?:D
i had fish tacos at javalina's last nite...

I'm just sayin...
Supposed to be a little oily. They were actually introduced as a food fish....
