And it happens all the time. Companies in this industry feed off the consumers ego and catch phrase " Bigger is Better". When in reality it should be "Combination is King".
I agree with what these guys are telling you, BUT--- need to know the intended application & cid. If this is a jetboat, you flash right through most of that midrange that many get hung up on and are building for one specific rpm, which is usually on up the scale- and with the common cid of engines today often being over 500 inch. Makes it a little harder to "over head" the engine.
Car or v-drive accelerating through the gears, or a heavy cruiser- maybe an outdrive-- sure it becomes more of a problem then.
Application. JMO though.
