always is
Thank you! ...... By the way, is it mandatory to have CF numbers on your boat to run on the water there for this event? I have in hand both the up to date stickers for the registration and for being mussel clean. I'd prefer not to have to put them on for this one event. For the most part, we're just going to run it at sanctioned drag races.

It's a Kurtis 7/8 runner with a 470 BBC. It had ran the 1000 ft mark at 110 mph @ 7.9 seconds by the previous owner.

I used to run APBA circle outboard tunnels for many years back in the late 70's and thru the 80's, had a blast, but it absolutely died out. I always loved the circle flats though, and I was going to go that route this time, but APBA screwed that up too with it's mandated capsule rule this year; so I ended up with a straight line boat, probably safer for my son anyway!

There was a time before I got this boat that I was seriously thinking of getting an outboard drag boat. But after dwelling on it for some time I realized there is a "very limited" amount of them running on the west coast and since we have always liked competition that has a big field of participants which by the way is why we have been involved with car racing for the past 23 years, we decided against that idea.

Anyhow, in my keeping up with the local happenings of fast vehicles (cars & boats), a fellow who knew I was an outboard zealot at one time in my life told me about a very fast outboard (white boat) that has been out at CFW who gives the v-drive guys some serious headaches. Now after seeing your avatar picture, I think I have a pretty good idea whom that guy might be lol. My only question to you is, you go by "stoker 2001" and being that I had worked for John Stoker @ John's Custom Marine in Stanton, Ca. waaaay back in my youth, I know that ain't no Stoker your run'n, looks more like a STV to me!

Well, I hope my son and I will get a chance meet you at CFW, until then, take care.

i am sure we have probably met in past?I am good friends with John and Al,and we bought the first ever SST224 (outboard) from Al back in 2007ish,white w/red with 250HP optimax.Your guess is close and similiar to STV,but it is a Mirage. It is not a lightweight by outboard dragboat standards, but has ran best of 7.69 in 1000' on all motor, all 153cu in:redface:
not sure if i will make the fathers day event,as the Shasta Cat attack is the same weekend and i had a blast last year at that event?I might make it up for day trip only on thursday..?
look forward to meeting you
