Jim, I am restoring a Spectra 20 v-drive and I want to go with taller gears in the Champion box. Right now I am running only 4% over, I run 18's in My Sanger, completly different animals I understand that but thsi is the only refrence I have. So for a family skier with an ocassional fun run... what would you suggest on gearing , if there are any avaliable. BBC 400 to 450hp carburated.

9% to maybe 12% over with that kind of power.

Make a deal with lilrick as that 10 over should let you do what you want. You still may have to tune the propeller. You did not mention what RPM you wanted your engine to turn???

Thanks guys, I will realisticly not be turning anything over 5,000 maybe 5,500. I will give lilric a call and see what we can do about those 10's.
