pretty cool/different, pretty cheap, too! haven't seen too many 23' daytona's, are they rare? seems like it's well worth what their asking for
it. how much dose the Arneson drive cost?

That thing is super cool, if I saw that thing on the water I'd think it would run harder than 90 though. I wonder how hard it would be to pump up that turbine motor.

If Arneson Drives are so tough and, it would appear they offer the least amount of 'drag' in the water > why are they not more popular?

Hmmmm, besides those two little drop-down trolling motors/props > that Areson wouldn't offer neutral or reverse.

Those two trolling motors mounted on the transom have to be for docking.. Looks like that thing would fly going straight but be a mother to control around the docks.

Its gotta have some wicked torque steer as well, maybe thats why it only runs a dual blade...

All in all its a great looking boat just a little skeptical on how it would run with a single true surface....

That is a 3 Blade, mostly I would say due to the fact that the person could not afford a 4 or 5 blade. It all comes down to the $$$$$$ There is no torque steer problems.

Docking... It would not be a problem if... there was a transmission. The turbine is direct drive meaning there is no neutral/reverse with this setup. Once the engine is running there is nothing but forward; so the need for an auxiliary power supply for docking, trailer launching and any situation whereby the boat needs to stop and reverse.

This engine is not very powerful, 420 at most on a cold day so I would not expect this boat to be any faster than any other 23' Eliminator with 420 hp.

I now own Howard Arnesons 32' Skater that he ran up the Mississippi River for the world record. We just celebrated the 20th aniversary of his achievment. Oh ya, Hi Rik.

Howard's 32 was (and still is) an awesome rig. I doubt anyone will ever attempt to break his Mississippi record. Hope you're enjoying your Skater/Arneson setup..........

I don't remember the classic style 23 Daytona's having the stepped sponsons or the notches at the transom. Bob leach must have build this boat for the drive.

Nope, stock bottom boat... The only mod that Bret did was he made the pod shallower than the stock ones.
