Dropped Weiand Stealth intake and Berk droop at polishers. Ordered pick up from Rex for the Dooley pan and also a nozzle gasket. Ordered loader from Chris at B1 (very excited about this part). Once I get all the parts, I'll pull the motor to fix some leaks and install intake, pan, and loader. Will take measurements and angles so B1 can build a shoe at that time. Then I need to save up for new gauges, fuel sending units, and flush fuel fills. I've been told the fuel fills are notorious for letting in water so I'll have a water separator to the fuel system. Not sure if I should put it before or after filter.

Did you get the hull buffed out yet? I was looking at your first thread that you posted when you got it.
That you pic you posted (your avatar) looks sweet.

It's a Baker. Similar bottom and deck. Not buffed, pic was taken after a rain storm lol. Still need to sand it and clear coat.

LOVE the "Chub Tub" name, bout used it myself...:))THumbsUp

yes water separator before the filter X2 on what Piston said

My experience is fuel fill is the same, have had several boats, but depending on location of the fuel fill, if the hull design allows some water to build up around the fills then yes extra precaution is advised (gasket under the fuel fills and TIGHT fill necks) if you dont have a bunch of in and out, sitting on the sides, and keep and eye on it, water going in will not be an issue, also I like the Flip Tops better for keeping water out than the others that the caps screw in.

I thought about aircraft style but venting them would be a pita.

Refinishing Project

The original gel is beat from the sun. I got the idea of re-clear coating the top half. 1st attempt didn't go so well. Got it sanded down and took it to my buddy's shop to shoot clear. It was a beautiful day and the shop was full so we shot it outside. Driver's side came out great, but by the time I got around to the passenger side there was a small amount of dust in the air and it was attracted to my boat lol. Sooo time to sand it back down.

After wet sanding with 500, I rinsed it down and shot a couple of pics of it wet so I could see what it will look like with clear.

I have a couple of places that need to be sanded a little deeper and then it's back to my buddy's shop to try again. This time, the shop will be clear and we can shoot it indoors. I also found out we were running too much air pressure, had real bad orange peel effect. His compressor regulator is set at 110psi!!! :)st I've got a small pressure regulator that mounts to the gun and I will dial it down the 40psi this time.

do you have the jet intake out?
No, going to swap intake manifold on engine when it finally gets back from polisher. Should have it next week. I need to install loader and measure for a new shoe.

i was wondering about the type of shoe if installed with the intake still in the hull
Intake was already set up with shoe and ride plate when I got it. I'm just going to change it to try and pick up some mph.
