Cigarette Racing Team's Skip Braver believes that the word "Team" includes his strong dealer network—both internationally and domestically.*

At last week's Florida Powerboat Club's 16th Annual Miami Boat Show Poker Run to Islamorada, several Cigarette dealers participated with gusto. David Woods from Pier 57 in Tennessee, representing both Cigarette and Marine Technology Inc. (MTI), took several boats and the group earned four awards, including:

° Best V Bottom - Ron Harrison, 46 Cigarette, Mercury Racing 1350

° Best Paint & Graphics - Albert Haynesworth, 48 MTI - Terminator, Mercury Racing 1350

° Most Outrageous Boat - Derek Wachob, 48 MTI - ZR-48, over-the-top customization* (also owner of a Cigarette Top Fish with quad 350 Verado engines)

Phil Lipschutz of Lip Ship Performance, Cigarette's longtime Miami dealer, was also at the Poker Run with his brand new Cigarette SS 50' Marauder that just made its debut at the Miami Boat Show.*The first 50-footer built for the US with Mercury Racing 1350's tore up the waters, showing the acceleration and smooth speed that make this powerboat what Lipschutz calls the "most amazing Cigarette I've seen in 40 years.* It's a dragster!" he exclaims.*He will use the new 50 as his Poker Run boat-at least until another Cigarette customer decides to make it his.

Bastian Breuer, Cigarette's German dealer from Maranello Marine also made the Poker Run and found it the perfect way to wrap up his trip to Miami.* "It's a real pleasure to boat in tropical waters here in the US--and the Florida Poker Run Club has created a wonderful community to share the experience."*

Stu Jones of the Florida Powerboat Club noted, "It was great to see Indiana member Ron Harrison back on the waterways with the Club. After owning several Cigarettes over recent years, he reached for the top by taking delivery of the newest 46 Cigarette. It was especially cool to see this boat get attention in the Cigarette booth at the Miami Boat Show, and then be seen slicing through the colorful waters of Biscayne. That's what makes this such a cool event--seeing these works of art actually perform their 'intended use,' illustrating they are as much 'go' as they are 'show'."

Jones also noted that out of over 65 boats, 9 were Cigarettes, including his pace boat, the 46 Cigarette Merrittorious, piloted by brothers Michael and Keith Merritt, from Ohio. This "one-off" Cigarette was documented as the fastest Cigarette at 172+ mph in a kilo run in 2006; it was completely transformed into a recreational powerboat and makes many events on the poker run circuit.* According to Jones, "The five-person sit-down cockpit*didn't feel cramped, and the Mercury Racing 1075's*gave the Merritt Bros. all the power they needed to keep pace with the incredibly fast fleet. This boat is everything I expected from Cigarette Racing Team."

Cigarette Racing Team will be active on the 2011 Poker Run circuit so check your calendar for the runs in your area.
