1.50 to 1 Black Hawk fresh from rebuild,updated gear sets and vertical shaft, steering wing plate, longer studs for helmet to accomodate the wing plate, longer trim pin, prop nuts and lock and HD prop wrench, drive shower cap, airation system and labbed 31's.

Aerated Blackhawk

Hi All

I was away for awhile but was waiting for the pics of the aeration set up on the Blackhawk as I too had the idea to do this. I am going to do mine a bit different but nice to see that this concept really makes a difference. Granted it wasn't a new idea as I saw how they made a difference on the six drives with big single props buried at takeoff, let alone the Arneson drives.

I am using a fully adjustable Stellings ext. box (slotted, not holes) and was going to use the gimbals exhaust port and run a tube up the side,on the inside of the box, and out the top, with a small reversed scoop for a stealthy clean look. Since it is a longer path but literally is in the prop stream(hence alot more slipping) I thought about putting a simple gate valve to adjust the flow of air to them to tune it for plane time. I could then simply safety wire the handle in place, so that it may be adjusted later. This could be done also without the box but would be as involved as my setup, just that it would have to be plumbed to exit the transom or deck as reverse could prove interesting......

I thought about how you did yours but my external steering uses the Imco saddle that mounts at the back trim ram pin, and would possibly interfere with it. I was wondering where you mounted your drive shower pick up ? I thought about getting the bravo halo set up and modifying it as it sprays the whole upper, or making one myself. Again I'm trying to keep it clean, so any ideas ? I even thought about putting nozzles on the trim plates spraying at the drive as they are custom and 38" long. If I could get these to work it would be even cleaner but the top bearing cap wouldn't see direct spray. The lube coolers are a good idea also but don't know anyone using them. I welcome any feedback.

Shower is plumbed to the raw water system via a thru hull fitting. That way it cools at idle after a hard run as well.
