I have tought about it, the only potential problem i see is the different heights of the centerline of the crank in refence to the bottom of the keel. A I/O unit could hang pretty far below the bottom of the boat. Could work though.
I thought about it. To do it right would not be cheap. On my hull it would require lots of work to the transom to make it strong enough to support the weight. Decided Id find a new boat if I wanted an outdrive.
I think I would keep the Jet, Jets haul a$$ & it seems like it would be a lot of fun to drive one like a seadoo, turn hard & spin out.
My family boat has a outdrive but its 24`-00" & we use it on Lake Havasu but it doesn`t leave hard. Probably in the long run it would be cheaper just to find a out drive boat instead of converting a jet not to mention work better too!!
