I have a 93 CCR with a 454, went to the lake this weekend and it would not start. No fuel to carburator. Is it electric or mechanical?? Do they have a fuel puml shut off switch? I had it serviced and now it is not running they said they had it running for 45 min, It had 3/4 tank of fresh fuel so I dont get it. Any help would be appreciated

TIMED SPARK, COMPRESSION & SOME WARE AROUND 14-1 PARTS GASOLINE TO AIR WILL MAKE MOST ENG'S RUN, Most shops won't lie to you about your Eng. runs, Did it start and run when you filled the float bowl (owning a carburated Eng. you should know how to do this) Then yes it's ether the fuel valve is off or the pump diagram has crap in it, Marine pumps can be disassembled, The round little diaphragms only take one little piece of junk to stop the pump from working, make notes while disassembling which one is up & the other down, And how to clock the 3 pieces. Also make sure the safety lanyard is good.

Please do not try to rebuild a 17 year old fuel pump. If the fuel pump is the culprit, by a new genuine Merc one install it and be done for another 17 years.
This is not a place to cut corners. Fuel leaks are very dangerous.
