I did one of these before, I just got around to adding a few more lines to fill in some gaps. It might come in handy for a some of the Ford guys :

Its' real easy to figure c.u. --- 8 x .7854 x Bore x bore x stroke = cubic inches. It doesn't take a chart! M

Its faster to read the chart than to find a calculator that works.hand

Ole guy, the charts are nice because it allows you to see all the "somewhat" standard combos at a glance. Ever notice the number of combos with the same CID. The formula is great for determining a specific combo size. But when you looking for different combos of the same size, it makes it a little easier. Someday I may post all the possible CIDs with 2 deck chevy deck heights 3 cranks, and 3 rod lengths, and 3 piston CHs. Its pretty amzing the different engines sizes and compression combos. Its a tad more than 3 combos. If your stuck thinking a 470 is automatically a 4.320 X 4.00, then the chart is of no use to you.

I just use the chart this weekend to determine all the possible combos that are available for a 514. Long story why I needed this info, but there are five on that chart alone. Add in all the combos that are between 510 and 515, and it gets even bigger.

I forgot the stock 427 Ford size of 4.23. I might add a few more. There are a few odd-ball sizes on the chart but it's now possible to have a pistons made in any size and ring packs can be file fitted to fit damn near any thing.

And don't forget the 4.320 bore that is very common with the BBC boys now, and always was common with the MoPar geeks

I don't know if that would work for you up there in the great white north, you guys do every thing screwy up there. Besides, the batteries are probably frozen in the calculator. hand

font size on the chart looks the same as the font size in the post... but i guess if ya didn't look, you wouldn't see it...sphsssphss

GN, I'm like you I need a chart in front of me so I can see the possible combination, but then again I need a dyno to tune an engine too.

I'll add those other combo's to the chart later and re-post.

You need to climb back into the box and stick with standard bore stroke combos. Oh wait, there is absolutely nothing standard about what Ford does
And where is Chevy's 3.766 stroke 427? The 409's 3.50 stroke?
