I know I'm not supposed to start it on the trailer so shoot me. I know my motor is shot, but can someone please explain the God awful amount of white smoke and how that happens?

Fleetimus, it looks like you don't need to come over tomorrow to look at the motor, seems I'll be needing a new one.

Anybody got a motor in nor cal for cheap?

last I checked, billowing white smoke from a motor wasn't very good...i may be wrong, infact I hope I am... but it seems like that means something pretty major is wrong.

Are you sure it wasn't steam from the headers? If not that, you may have just blown a head gasket. An afternoon later and a gasket set and you are back in business. Fleet could probably set you strait.

I started it twice, both with smoke billowing out... I'll need a second opinion before I start it again....

It was def smoke not steam. Choking, eye's watering smoke... seemed to come from under the engine and out the back, exhaust pipes too

no, I just changed the oil too. There was oil spray on the side of the motor though.. does start to sound like a head gasket.

looked fine. looked like used oil.. maybe a slight hint of grey

That could be the valve guides allowing the il to get into the cylinders and look like that. It didn't sound lie there was any knocking and that is a good thing. it couls be a simple as a valve job.

Yah supposed to leave on Monday for a week... anything else I should order from summit? I've got one shot at this before Monday... if you all think it's a head gasket then I'll give it a shot, if not... I'll save some time this weekend.

Go over to tognotti's auto in sac on fulton ave. They will have the gaskets you need tomorrow. Head gasket, some ultra black rtv, an intake gasket some barrymans too.

I'm gonna order it from summit. I don't want to drag the kids down to sac. Summit delivers about mid day, so I'll do the tear down in the am and the re build over the weekend.

Your opinion is the head gasket too Tim?
