So there is no doubt I love NoName's Conquest that is currently in the Spam section. In the thread I made the following comment toward the bottom http://www.performanceboats.com//showthread.php?t=42115&page=2 and Nodigg quoted my post and made his comment.......

So here is the deal. I was always told the bottoms of these boats were different. Are they not? I know you can strap a ton of ponies on a Deck boat, but is it really a performance boat?

BTW this is no bash on NoDigg I just thought we could all be educated :)

What is your description of a performance boat? IMO a deck can be a performance boat but not the same catagory as a Skater,MTI, or a true cat. I thought the bottoms were the same until they added a couple of steps on the new style bottom. Keith would be the one to give a correct answer on this.

The new two step bottom that Conquest made was introduced on the new Boss Cat if I'm not mistaken, and then was used to produce all the newer ( I believe '06 and later) deck boats. So, besides the extra weight of the deck boat, the Conquest deck boats and closed bow cats should ride and perform fairly equally.

Keith Sayre would be the one I would contact for any info on the Conquests.

I would say its a boat with a high performance motor but don't they handle different?
I don't agree with that, 1st thing that comes to mind is when I saw a Glastron with a blown small block. IMO a production boat would be more like a gayliner or Ebtide that runs stable but not too fast. Performance boat would be something that had the time taken to make the hull run for speed. Lavey, Shockwave for a V-hull.

That was pretty much my point. Obviously it didn't come out the way I typed it.

IMHO a deck can be a "Hot boat" but to be a true "Performance" boat, the boats #1 priority should be performance. Not cupholders, not comfort, and sure as hell not Stereo.

That said there are some BITCHEN deck boats out there. If it fits your need, who cares if it's a "performance boat" or a "fun boat" or a "party barge," hell, even if it's a bass boat (maybe, needs LOTS of metalflake) enjoy it.:)sphss
