At what point in the horsepower / ET / speed / pressure game do you need to double-drill and stud the back of our pumps?

I've an early dominator with a place 1/2 droop behind 957 horses without nitrous. 1300 with. Hasn't been down 1/4 mile track with new motor, but hoping for at least 10.0's on motor and will try for 9.0's at least once.

How far you need to push 'em before the double tap is needed?

I blew out bowl gaskets with 700 h.p. Up to 900 now will definatly use all studs before track time for added insurance. With your power your asking for possible trouble if you dont do em all. Just Sayin:yes: woth the insurance for no problems later. Have fun.

You should double bolt your entire jet-drive at that level.

On a side note...depending on the conditions an 18 should do 9s without your n20, if the conditions go away 1-2 seconds of n2 and your there. Also, if it has a 4 degree regular intake you might try a full droop at some point, the 18 can easily handle the lower thrust line.

Around 600

I found it was around 600 or so when i started blowing out the gasket..Double drilling and "O" ringing bowl fix all. Also can depend on how small, if any, nozzle reducer you might run. Smaller can build pressure at tail gasket.

Side note.. during time of blowing gaskets out, about 3 or 4 a year, i used a bud 12 pack carton and some silicone, made a gasket and went racing....that gasket lasted 3 years, and only due to a pump check up,and the double drilling did i replace it...lol
