This is just another sound minded American who sees clearly from the Founding Fathers to today. There are millions of them but this man happens to have been raised in the poorest of conditions, provided little or no opportunity beyond what all Americans have available to them and he is of African-American descent yet he broke through all the imaginary barriers the became the top man in his field (at Johns Hopkins, at least.)

That lends greater credibility to his remarks.

Walking talking.....

I hate to say it, but, I wouldn't be surprised if the libtards come up with some sort of discrediting scandal, or the good Doctor becomes the victim of a some tragic accident... He is far and away the obama's agenda biggest, current, threat.... It is amazing what a little TRUTH can do when it comes to shaking up the entire liberal policy/agenda.... He'll quickly become another Palin as soon as the libtards can come up with some dirt....

Ray

PS FOX is currently murdering the liberal media bias, so bad that some liberal news organizations are actually starting to tell the truth about some very limited topics.... I have to laugh when O Reilly calls them out with video of their lies, and their total failure to cover actual news....
Then again, I'm so sick of hearing about the pope quitting... Who cares? Why is THAT news?? Why not report the latest charges against Jessie Jackson Jr.??? I heard he might be looking at 30 years!!! He better get sentenced so obama can "pardon" him before obama is impeached/arrested for treason...

Perfect....

Certainly better than Rubio's...

Only a total idiot would focus on a water bottle while totally ignoring the SUBSTANCE of the response. Rubio's response was so dead on while exposing what a douche the President is, it seems the only "fault" the left can find about it was the way he reached for a water bottle. Right on!!! It seems YOU totally agree with what he said and can find no fault whatsoever in his Words.....For once we agree, every thing he said was true, and every thing the President said was false, and we had heard all the falsehoods and empty promises before....obama could have just played a recording of his 2rd or 3rd SOTU address after he edited out the "YOU LIE" part.... Or, I guess he could leave the "YOU LIE" part in, since he was still lying.....

Rubio did not give a "response" to the SOTU; he gave a prepared speech...:))ThumbsDwn and a weak one, at that.
I had some high hopes that he would have "wow'd the crowd" like he did at the RNC...but not so.
It was the GOP's opportunity to gain back some momentum with America, and they blew it...:)eh:)

Water bottle aside, he spewed the typical un-truths that plague much of his party today...e.g. from Politico:

“Obamacare was supposed to help middle-class Americans afford health insurance. But now, some people are losing the health insurance they were happy with. And because Obamacare created expensive requirements for companies with more than 50 employees, now many of these businesses aren’t hiring. Not only that; they’re being forced to lay people off and switch from full-time employees to part-time workers.”

There’s nothing in the law that is forcing people to lose insurance they’re happy with — in fact, according to census data, both the number of uninsured people and the uninsurance rate declined in 2011 (the most recent census figures available), partly because more people under 26 have gotten covered. Some people lose or change insurance every year — and that was true long before Obamacare became law.

It is true that some employers are at least contemplating cutting their full-time workforce to keep under the 50-worker threshold. How widespread this will be at the end of the day — or whether these people will be able to get subsidized coverage on exchanges or through expanded Medicaid — isn’t yet certain. But Rubio hit on a valid concern.

There's alot more

Climate change attacks

Rubio: “When we point out that no matter how many job-killing laws we pass, our government can’t control the weather — he accuses us of wanting dirty water and dirty air.”

It’s hard to say which “job-killing” environmental or energy laws the Florida Republican is talking about.

Though Obama nudged Congress on cap and trade again, the president essentially gave up on this idea back in 2010 when it died in the Senate.

And when the bill died, Obama didn’t exactly go on offense slamming Republicans the way Rubio describes it.

Sayonara Mr Rubio...:)hand

Of course, Jon Stewart had plenty of fodder to work with...:D

After Marco Rubio gave the Republican response to President Obama's State of the Union address, most viewers took one thing away: Rubio's awkward sip from a glass of water. Jon Stewart couldn't help but poke fun at history's most famous televised refreshment, but found plenty more of Rubio's speech to rebuff on Wednesday's "Daily Show."

For starters, he felt that the choice of Rubio was at best a cynical political calculation on the part of the Republican party, who has been vocal about trying to reach out to Hispanic voters. He compared Republicans' response to Obama's push for immigration reform at this SOTU with past speeches, with GOP legislators appearing significantly more cheery this year.

Regardless of Rubio's ethnic background, Stewart found the Florida senator's speech to reflect the same hypocrisy that had doomed the GOP in the past. The version of Obama perpetuated by Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan and Rubio as a tax-obsessed plutocrat intent on destroying Medicare seems to be directly at odds with the actual president, who addressed those issues in his speech earlier that very night.

Stewart offered some advice to Republicans: "As you're feeling around for a new party strategy, if Paul Ryan doesn't work, Pablo Ryan is not going to help."

Damn Shue... You make me glad that I sent my son to private school. Your so called facts are missing something, like facts!!!

I wonder if those in the Pipeline union would agree with you. Or maybe those that work in the power plants that will soon be losing their jobs feel about you bullshit.

Since the full effects of Obamacare haven't hit yet, you cannot say that people aren't going to lose their healthcare. The OMB expects a large number of people to lose their employer based healthcare. Since Obamacare, insurance costs have increased by 23-30% to employers. But since you're a leach on the system, you would never understand business cost.
My father was right, those who know, do; those who don't, teach!

Late to the party, but back on thread. Thankyou Dr. Carson. You had magnificent balls, with the skinny Marxist 6 feet away, you challenged all of his Socialist ideas and programs, and even stipulated the correct proceedures and ideas. You made the Republican establishment Rinos look like the pussies they really are. God bless America for producing the patriot that you are.

He got through college with help from a student loan and his parents received help raising their family with Gub'm't assistance, things that his party today attacks. His parents came from Cuba BEFORE Castro took over, despite his claims to the otherwise.

He was baptized Mormon when his family lived in Las Vegas for a few years with relatives. He became Catholic in his early teens and as an adult also attends Baptist services.

He had a "problem" with using political funds for personal expenses (2005-09), which may haunt him in the future.

I really like the guy....he's a fresh start for a archaic, dying party. Time will tell just how dynamic a leader he can become.
